K. It’s a research method that promotes exploration and maximization of materials’ potential and that enables the designers to create outcomes more freely and naturally. Shin’s design activities that involve experiments and deeper exploration of materials led Shin to develop creative inventions like a functional new material for air purification and chairs made with traditional Korean Hanji paper. Shin has been selected as one of the Next Generation Design Leaders by the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy and has won prestigious international design awards including the Red Dot Award.
