Media artist, designer, and a member of 2019 ZER01NE Lab Choi Byoungil showcases the Whiteroom this year on a tangent from the 2018 ZER01NE Project’s Blackroom.
On the basis that the entire cabin of future cars can become a screen for visual information, Choi imagines a mobile space that provides real-time information of the outside. By focusing on the car display, the project seeks to offer an array of driving information based on images created by sensors in motion. Whiteroom is a proposal to respond to the cognitive dissonance of drivers in the future, who will be liberated from constantly paying attention to the route or traffic, and also a case of mobility-based visual branding.
