Wonbaek Shin and Hyuns Hong of the media artist group LOVOT LAB showcase their project LOVOT inspired by exploring the emotional and existential questions of artificial intelligence.
The project is an interactive film that challenges a new form of “love” and its values in the AI era: a time when AI robots take the form of a human or a familiar animal and become indistinguishable from real humans. They embarked on the project with the question, “What makes us human?” The film rethinks the value of “love” in human-robot and robot-robot relationships, while reflecting on the value of humans in contrast to the fate of robots with or without a personality.
